Huawei - CASE STUDY

THE MISSION

Huawei Canada hosted its P30 Series launch event in Toronto in 2019, taking place at the Carlu venue at the heart of the city. Guests were invited to indulge in a variety of foods and drinks while testing the impressive new Pro30 phone. There were fun installations displaying the technology along with the chance to take photos and get hands-on experience with the smartphone.

THE IMPACT

Huawei revealed that in less than six months, over 16 million P30 Pros had been sold internationally. And that’s not counting the less expensive P30 and P30 Lite models. Huawei also stated that these sales had resulted in a 53 percent global sales growth.

I'm not sure why but you can find my Hauwei work on multiple stock photo sites.

One project of many

Shown here are a few different projects but really only a tiny tiny piece of what I did and the scope of work I would do on a daily basis. Hauwei is a major contender in the cell phone market and had been fighting for Canadian market share during this time more than any other. Most of this branding and designing I did was based around creating brand growth through recognition and repetition across many mediums and campaigns. Repetition is the essence of learning. Online, digital and social campaigns were the main focus but in-store pos displays and events were also a big part of their strategy. Shortly after I left working on the account the brand became shrouded in politics and controversy. This essentially stopped Hauwei's growth in Canada.
