Nike 'Department of Unimaginable' - CASE STUDY

THE MISSION
Air Max isn’t just a shoe; it’s a revolution. Air Max was first introduced on March 26, 1987 – featuring remarkable cushioning innovation that for the first time could be both seen and felt by runners. Nike has been creating the unimaginable for more than 30 years, turning imagination into reality. In celebration of Nike’s annual Air Max Day, the brand brought us the challenge of designing an interactive pop-up for the Toronto area. 12 cities across the globe including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City and Toronto were included in an event that they dubbed the 'Department of Unimaginable'.

THE OUTCOME
We presented ON AIR: The City Department, a community-based Nike-Air inspired, design curriculum hosted by Nike designers, collaborators and friends in 2019. The pop-up was filled with plenty of Air Max visuals and displays to highlight the silhouette's rich history. The interactive space also played host to City Department workshop that were unique to each city. The workshops were design-focused sessions that covered off Industrial Design, Color Design & Materials Exploration and Illustration & Typography and were hosted by Nike designers, collaborators and friends.

THE IMPACT
An overwhelming response from content curators and running enthusiasts was heard across every social and content platform. Amazing images and experiences filled feeds and helped to promote and spread Nike in a different light to all audiences. Creativity and inspiration were high. Events like these are crucial to building long-lasting brand recognition and loyalty.

But thats not all!
This was just one event of many that I worked on for Nike. Our role in the Nike Canada account was mainly events but was not limited to it. We did a great deal of work in other fields and projects for the account (including but not limited to); Social Posts, Print and digital advertising, signage/billboards, new product launches, in-store/pos displays and influencer marketing.
