Red Bull - CASE STUDY

THE MISSION

From New York City to São Paulo, Johannesburg, Paris, Tokyo, Los Angeles and beyond, the Red Bull Music Festival series has circumvented the globe, shining a light on the sounds, scenes and minds moving music forward. Continuing the tradition, Red Bull Music Festival took place for the first time in Montreal and Toronto in 2018. It included diverse programming experiences across both cities, from unique show concepts to live performances in unconventional venues.

THE OUTCOME

Amazing. For this event never having been held in Toronto before it went off without any major problems. We supported the event with social and digital ads and almost every event in both cities across multiple days was sold out.

THE IMPACT

These events (and others like it) allows a wide and diverse audience to see and perceive Red Bull in a different light. As more than just an energy drink brand. Creating these sort of customer interactions makes lasting memories. Adding massive positive perception to the brand. We worked with another agency on this project to design the unique imagery and 3d graphics that represented the wide set of talents involved. We used this imagery to create the many different designs and layouts used through out the campaign. Most brands don't allow this much creative freedom and funky art. Its hard to ignore the impact that plays in an event like this.

Red Bull's campaigns included all sorts of outdoor signage placements. Here are a few that I did.

Digital ads for days

Google, facebooks, instagram, circle K, mac's, loblaws.. the amount of digital ads in different markets and channels was crazy. I did original cartoon wiiings ads, new product launches, Red Bull music, crashed ice, grand prix, sledhammers...the different styles of ads and the amount of sub-brands they had was literally endless. Then of course take all of this and times it by two, because everything was also needed in French :)

Endless events

Red Bull has always been active in extreme sports events. Sponsoring athletes, events, venues. they also put on quite a few of their own unique events. Adrenalan is an esports series of gaming events. Reign is 3 on 3 local basketball tournament often setup on closed down streets. Sledhammers is extreme snowmobile jumping and racing. This also is just to small sample of the events and projects I would work on and design for Red Bull.
